OUR SECRET TO A PERFECT FIT

We’ve worked with women of all shapes and sizes – from 00 to 24. We understand each woman has unique curves and that’s why we individually analyze each set of body measurements. Using our proprietary pattern system, we look at your proportions and your height, and we adjust the pattern accordingly. This enables us to create a custom skirt that accentuates your body, giving you that perfect fit.

ENHANCING SEAM

We alter this seam to create the appearance of a firmer and lifted butt, a customization only available with Rita and Phill.

DEFINING DARTS

All skirts have it but we do it better! We help create the illusion of a slimmer waistline by making it to your exact measurements.

CURVATURE

We accentuate your body shape by cutting the skirt to fit your unique body.

CUSTOMIZABLE LENGTH

No more wishing it was just a little shorter or just a little longer. We ask for your height to make sure the length is perfect for you.

HIGHER WAISTBAND

Our higher waistband design helps to create an hourglass silhouette on any body shape.

ENHANCING SEAM

Enhancing Seam

The Enhancing Seam is a Rita and Phill signature customization that enables us to minimize or enhance the curvature of your butt. This seam is the one that runs directly down the center of the back of your skirt. Most off-the-rack skirts have this center seam but we have developed a way to customize it, so that it is used to accentuate the curvature of your butt. Using your body measurements, our team calculates and tailors the Enhancing Seam to naturally make your butt look firm and lifted.

DEFINING DARTS

Defining Darts

Darts on skirts help enhance your body shape in two ways. First, they create a slimmer waistline by folding in on themselves to form a curved surface that wraps around your body. This reduces any excess fabric that may add bulk to your waistline and stomach area. Second, darts help shape your butt. By folding in to a point, the flat surface of the fabric is now able to create a curvature to accommodate for your butt. Without darts, it would be like wearing a paper bag - essentially lifeless and unflattering.

CURVATURE

Curvature

Body curvature is a tricky topic. When discussing clothing, people generally refer to body measurements. However, two women with the same waist, hip and thigh measurements could be completely different body shapes. This is true when one woman has hips that are wide on the sides with a small butt and the other woman has a rounded butt in the back with no side hips. If both women tried on a skirt with the same size, they would be able to pull it on, but it would be too loose in the hips for one woman, and too loose in the butt for the other woman.

CUSTOMIZABLE LENGTH

Customizable length

Say goodbye to skirts that are too long or too short. Your height is a required measurement in order for us to adjust the length of your custom skirt to perfectly fit your body and your body shape. For most store bought skirts, if you are not an “average” height, then you are going to have some problems. Short women always have to take their skirts up. Tall women must look for bigger sizes to accommodate for the additional length but then must take it in because it’s too big overall. We understand the struggle from both perspectives and applied the simplest answer. Let’s make the skirt length to fit the customer’s height!

HIGHER WAISTBAND

Rita and Phill custom clothes Higher waistband

Higher waistband

Most store bought skirts have waistbands that sit right at or below your belly button. This is because this area enables the brands to get away with an "average" size: if its too big, the skirt will sit lower below your belly button, and if its too small, the skirt will sit at your belly button. However, this is not the most flattering placement for the waistband because it pulls attention to a wider part of your body. And if you have a slight belly (like most of us do), the skirt will cinch your belly at the fattest part, creating a not-so-cute muffin top.

The Rita and Phill solution for muffin-top spillage is to create a higher waistband that emphasizes the smallest part of your body. All body shapes benefit from a higher waistband because it accentuates your waistline, giving the look of a smaller waist. The higher placement also elongates your legs, giving you a slimmer overall look. Waistlines that fit at your natural waist are difficult to make and usually only look good when they are made to a person's body measurements - there can be no cheating with "averages"!
